Neurology department has two functioning units (Neurology I & Neurology II) since September, 2005.
 

Unit–I (Purple)

In-Patient services

Allotted Beds (Unit I =14+ Unit II =11) =25; In-patient numbers (average): 40-50 / day; Turn over (Admission-discharge) average:10 / day; Referral patients attended average 200/month

Out-Patient service

Six days in a week (Saturday to Thursday); Total: 24 hours/week
Average number of patients: 20 each consultation day.

Total number of patients in each month average=450 including scheduled neurology follow up and referral from different departments.

Neuroelectrophysiological(EDX)procedure(NCS and EMG)

Total Number of Patients1269 (limbs 2248) in the year of 2021-2022.

Clinical Session:

Every Wednesday on different topics from different recent medical journals are discussed. Medical officers& students are assigned to discuss the topic.

Sunday (Twice in every month)

Every Saturday for RMO and MD phase A /DEM students

Academic activities

Regular clinical meeting takes place every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday morning. Consultants provide lectures weekly by rotation to the students placed under the departmentalso participate in BIRDEM academic meetings on Tuesday and Thursday. We provide clinical training to postgraduate students of BIRDEM Academy, clinical students of Ibrahim Medical College as well as to the doctors of other departments placed by rotation under this unit.
